Description
Chateau Chenonceau spans the River Cher and is located in the Loire Valley of France. The unique structure was built in the 16th century by Philibert de l'Orme and Jean Bullant. Since then it has been home to several noblepeople and royalty. It was eventually used as a hospital during World War I and damaged by bombings in World War II. In the 1950s, the chateau was restored. It is now open to the public as a historical monument.
